Does high share of consultants vs IB guys have impact on the job itself? Would you say that they do something different because of that or is it still the same approach though with different cohort of people?

 

Kinda does but it's not a function of being mostly consultant, but rather they hire many consultants because that's the skill set the shop wants, which translate in very strong focus on commercial DD and comfort only with certain types of assets, and less focus on financial engineering… probably less pure financial technical work vs other funds

 

Any info on recruiting this year? Are they planning to set up an analyst program as KKR is doing?

 

Deal flow has historically leaned more towards Industrials which is also one of their stronger sectors from a returns perspective. The lack of high growth Software / Healthcare deals is also part of the reason why overall returns have been lacklustre in recent years.
