Any possibility of this route working? IB at EB -> Master In accounting -> PE

I struck out on recruiting when I was analyst in IB at an EB. Didn't prep enough while working. I'm currently considering doing a masters in Accounting and then shooting for PE recruiting again during masters. Is this likely to work or is an accounting masters too unrelated?

It's too short notice for me to go the MBA route for 2026, so I'm considering the MACC as a bridge.

Any opinions appreciated

Nope, out the game. Finished my analyst program without a return. Been recruiting for a year, no luck on anything. So it's either, stay unemployed and searching, wait another year and apply for mba, or masters in accounting immediately and recruit within the schools program.
