Anyone from DCM made it to strong PE firm?

Pretty much what the title says, would love to hear / meet anyone that started in DCM and made it to a good PE firm. Currently at a BB in DCM, have worked in a bunch of bn dollar bond deals and want to eventually move to the buyside. I have been trying to move to a coverage team and it seems like I'll be able to do it internally as an associate (unless I find something externally before), and I guess I'll have to recruit off-cycle in the future. Would love to hear any similar experiences. Thanks!

I was in dcm but made it to private credit. Didn’t really recruit for PE but I’m sure you could get a LMM or MM PE fund if you ace the modeling test etc

I came to UMM buyout from a top tier levfin group and even then there were a few firms who told me they wanted people from M&A or coverage backgrounds and didn’t interview me. Will be extremely difficult coming from investment grade bond deals. You will be able to do private credit. Strong traditional MM/UMM buyout firm will be incredibly difficult. Move to coverage or M&A first.
