Ares Real Estate Platform
Once their recently announced acquisitions close, Ares will go from 10 to 3rd ranked in the Real Estate space. Anyone know what their strategy is and at what point do people start considering them Elite like Blackstone or Brookfield on the RE side?
Interviewed with them before, they focus on asset level deals (no taking reits private yet), and a lot of it being the LP on developments and partnering with local OP. The rest is just mark to market strategy.
do you have any idea on comp for associate 1?
I think in-line? 300k+, not sure
I made $350k as an associate a few years ago ($150k base + $200k bonus but $30k of the bonus was stock that vests equally over 3 years). I was a top performer and it was a good year for Ares. I think base salary was $165k in 2023. Not sure what it is today. Hope this helps.

Also, do you have any color on VP comp at ares for real estate?
Not sure if it’s equal across all offices and groups but I believe $225k base. Not sure on bonus but assume it’s close to 100% of base (aka ranges from 80-120% depending on individual and company performance).
