Back office ? Partners group Financial Analyst Program Zug

I’m currently in the process (financial analyst program) and wanted to confirm something: was one analyst from the current class actually assigned to the back office (CEO office), even though this is supposed to be an investment analyst program? That’s crazy if true. Also heard that the analyst resigned bc of it but unsure about this

There are two things. She in particular wanted that assignment I believe — kind of a chief of staff / CEO’s minion role I gathered, not back office. That said, a few years ago they did overhire for the analyst class not betting on the rate hikes and it led to pretty brutal internal competition for desirable investment roles — some analysts were even assigned to the LP sales groups which are big at partners group due to their model. I think that was a bug more than a feature though.

First point isn’t true, she didn’t want to join the CEO office (explain why she resigned then…). From what I understood (know someone at the firm), she said multiple times to the people managing the analyst program that she was unhappy, and they didn’t care at all. These are the same people overseeing last year analyst interviews that ended up in a scandal (see the thread on WSO), which makes you think. Since she wasn’t happy at all, she resigned which is a decision I respect imo. Also explain to me how it is even remotely efficient to be the CEO’s minion in Switzerland while the actual CEO is in Denver
I didn’t know about the second point, it’s wild, as I imagine people join to be on the investment team, not in some other random team

This is insane, name the people managing this program !! No need to anonymise it
