Bain Capital Partnership Strategies

Does anyone have knowledge of this fund? Friend was hyping it up but it seems they’re pretty secretive with details (investments aren’t publicly listed on the website). Looks like a very interesting cross-asset role that invests across public and private markets, both direct and coinvesting, and that they only take consultants? Anyone know more about the place, culture, hours, etc?

think you're off the mark, and especially on a going-forward basis. I would check out their website if I were you.

"Our partnership strategies effort seeks to create partnerships with investment teams looking to launch, grow, or re-capitalize their firms"

Even if they did invest in crypto previously, they have a separate vehicle for that now. Music royalties and carbon credit-like investments will probably happen out of their special situations fund (if they weren't happening there already)

It was an internal fund set up to manage the partners’ collective wealth (so FoF, some coinvest, etc) that they eventually opened up to external capital.

Very far from a FoF. Know several people in the group; invests in really obscure assets. Almost like a tac ops or special sits (in the pure sense, not all distressed). Used to be a FO but commercialized in late 2010s, is now mostly external capital.
