Basic PE Recruitment Timetabling

Sorry its a basic question but would appreciate clarification

How do PE firm interviews actually work in London, do they all take place on weekends? Do you schedule them to all take place on your holiday days so you aren't missing work

If they take place during Mon-Fri, what happens with clashes with client calls or team calls that you have to be on at your bank - are you then just dis-advantaged in the process because you had a meeting with your staffer at the same time and so have to cancel an interview, seems kinda unfair and not advantageous for the PE to lose out on candidates like this?

If they are during Mon-Fri do you just pretend sick, seems like people would see right through and would damage relations at your firm - how do you handle it?
