BlackRock to PE/HF?

Hey,

Recently received an offer for an Investments team at BlackRock. Was wondering how common it is for junior analysts to recruit on cycle for PE or even look at HFs? Are there particular funds that might have a preference for someone from AM/BlackRock, or will I just need to network with HeadHunters myself? My thoughts were that since IB analysts recruit before they even start nowadays, I don't see why I wouldn't be able to get into the processes too - but really looking for someone with experience/advice.

Thx!

BlackRock acquired Swiss Life and First State PE arms to build most of its PE arm.

Recently, it also launched a very LT PE with limited success / traction in the market.

I believe it is a great place to start, however, it lacks the track record from other players.
