Blackstone FT Analyst Opportunities?
I was curious if Blackstone typically runs a FT Analyst recruiting process? I know they take summer interns and hire for FT out of that pool, but was wondering if they also do a FT process. Looking specifically for Credit (GSO) and PE.
I think last year they filled everything up with interns, but don't think that's the norm
PE takes their FT out of their very small summer analyst class. GSO runs a very small FT analyst program that is 1 or 2 yrs old. Only about 2 seats for their liquid credit strategies group (LevLoan/HY investing group).
A couple people from my school joined Blackstone as a FT Analyst without spending a summer there. They mainly got in through having people internally pull for them to get an interview and fill up a spot. These guys did not go in through a formal process, they just networked and when a spot opened at the end of the summer, they jumped in.
Your best bet is to intern with them and then convert it to full-time, but there are spots available when they decide to expand the incoming Analyst class or do not pick an intern to return. If you are starting your summer somewhere else then I would try to network with an alum or connection during the summer and keep in good contact with them.
