Blackstone Growth (BXG) FT Analyst Recruiting

Interested in learning more about BXG FT recruiting:

  1. Historically how many FT analyst spots has BXG had? How does this compare with their SA class size?

  2. Would really appreciate it if someone could walk through what their FT analyst recruitment process is like --

Is it networking heavy? How many rounds of interviewing? How would you recommend that we prepare for interviews and what to expect in interviews?

  1. What is usually the background of successful candidates? Are these often those who interned as SA in IB or do they often have different backgrounds?

  2. Does BXG only have an office in NY in the US or does it also have an office in SF / Bay Area?

  3. How important is diversity / target school status for BXG?

OP here —

Firstly the odds that I even get a superday there, let alone the job are very low. I can being to start worrying about whether I really want to accept the offer or not if I make it to the interview process which itself probably won’t kick off anytime soon

But secondly let me ask you this - Which major investment firm hasn’t had underperformance in a vintage or had internal issues or ever received some flak from the press?

I believe these tough times will pass (FYI I’m in college and have almost 2 years until I start FT)

Even if they don’t, if anything, I’ll mentally prepare myself by saying that working there as a junior when there might potentially be chaos and the investments might potentially be hairy will present an unmatched experience and learning opportunity — not just from an investor standpoint but also from an employee and human standpoint as you learn to navigate through a lot

Maybe things get better or maybe they go further downhill .. maybe I have a great experience, maybe I don’t. Everyone has different goals and priorities and perspectives. This is the place I want to be at and I’m willing to take potential risks and pay the price if things don’t work out

as far as I've heard, they don't hire SA or FT analysts. you should double check on LinkedIn though maybe things have changed

I believe they hire for SA as during SA 2024 BX applications, BXG was a group you could select just like Corp PE, Tac Opps, BSP etc. So I believe they now have a summer analyst program (and naturally an analyst program too).

As an extension of the logic, I am guessing that they would do FT recruiting as well. But I don’t know for sure if they even actually do FT recruiting nor a single detail about their FT program. Hence I’ve turned to WSO for info as this site has been very helpful in the past for finding other information I initially didn’t have access to.

I don't think they hired for SA24, they never had an application up as far as I remember. are you talking about the part at the end of the applications where you could select business areas you're interested in? I don't think that means they were running a process

They didn’t hold interviews for 2024. Know of two former SA in the group, one of which is a nepotism connect.

Which fund for BX did the Cvent deal? Curious which team of BX you should join if you want to do buyout / late-stage growth tech, or whether BX is just not a good place for tech
