Blackstone Private Equity Summer Analyst
Hi, the internship description says you should know how to do financial modeling. I'm currently applying to internships but will still learn how to model. Does anyone know the best way to learn it? Also, how deep should my knowledge and capability to model financially be?
Do a course. Wallstreetprep/financial edge
YouTube. Lots of free content there
Do i need to be an expert on how to model? at the end of the day I just started my second year of Uni.
I mean you should be able to describe how to model even if you don't actually know the mechanics of it. No interns ever touch the model anyways
Incorrect. BX has interns take first pass at the model for anything that’s not a fire drill live deal
As a summer undergrad intern you should be fine with just the basics. Understanding some basic principles of modeling and accounting (how the three statements tie together, etc) are more important than being an excel whiz.
BX has like 1 PE summer spot and it will go to some European LBS student with multiple internships already
