Carried Interest Language?
I just received an offer letter saying I am eligible to earn up to a certain dollar amount of carried interest out of the total fund.
How should I look at this - is it that dollar amount is the % of the fund I am eligible to or is it that my earnings are capped at that $ amount? Apologies for the confusion - I have only seen instances where a % is assigned!
As if you invested $Xmm of aum
Agree with ProbablyEng. Also recommend having a lawyer review, if possible
Get legal on this. It may seem straightforward and would hope that they would be offering you good-faith positions, but for peace of mind check in with them. You will thank yourself later. Without a JD and seeing a copy of the exact addendum, none of us here can help you as much as a lawyer.
