CarterPierce doesn’t give you access to jobs if you work for one of their clients
Can we start a class action about this? Is it actually legal for them to block recruiting opportunities based on your current employer? Seems like pretty obvious collusion from the west coast firms to stifle laterals
That seems pretty basic no? Of course they can't actively poach people from their current clients. If they did that would completely defeat the point of the recruiter/investment firm relationship.
I mean given the amount of market share they have on the west coast it basically means my employer is paying a firm for the privilege to not let most of the relevant market hire me
Pretty much. Welcome to the war for talent. Blame your firm, not CP for doing their job.
Above is correct. Firms force recruiters to sign contracts that they won't poach talent that they've placed for some period or time and/or can clawback placement fees/commissions paid to them (for placing talent), so CP would be cannibalizing their own income.
