Building a company is completely different than investing. I would strongly recommend picking up a cofounder that is hyper tactical/technical. Having two finance guys on a cofounding team is something I'd try to avoid at all costs.
Could you clarify what you mean by "hyper tactical"?
been in PE for 5 yrs or so, planning to leave by year end. exploring paths but definitely not considering another PE shop
I recommend solving your own pain points. Focus on an industry/niche you know extremely well.
I worked in GE for +7 years. Now building AI agents for investment teams (VC/PE/GE) for repetitive grunt work that no one wants to do.
