Dear Recruiters,
Hi, if you are a recruiter in PE, what can/should an S&T analyst do that would make you consider them (without having to lateral to IB)? If one trades commodities, what skillsets from this field should they pick up that would prepare them for the transactional nature of this industry without having done deals? Greatly appreciate any advice given!
I’ve personally never seen this transition. I suggest you go to IB first.
Thank you for the response, I do intend to hit IB for FT, but as for now, I am going to be an S&T SA. I wanted to gauge my odds of breaking into PE if I do not go through IB. I figured if I can handle all the interview questions, have a background in the family business, and establish links, how is it impossible?
It will be much easier to break into IB now than it will be to do PE later.
I was a ST SA. Now in IB. Just got accepted into UMM PE form. Feel free to message me with questions.
Can you pm me? I've maxed out my pms and would appreciate your advice
