Feel so old still an analyst at 28, will get promoted associate at 29. Depresses me when I see all the kids around me being associate at 25. Is the play to jump funds to get back those years I lost ?

Just keep pushing. You care more than anybody else.
Not saying OP should feel bad but there is a meaningful difference between comparing your track to your actual peer group's average outcomes vs the literal richest man in human history.
many are there because that's what they thought they should be doing (or that's the path they were told to follow), meanwhile you're there because that's what you really want to do, so how can this be a loss?
