do you need an mba in london

hey guys, so i noticed that people dont usually need an mba to move from analyst to associate in banking in London. what about PEs? do you still need an mba to work at a PE. i hear people tlak about pre-mba and post-mba, is that just for the States?

From the people that I have met there is no set structure in lateraling from IB to PE. A lot of it has to do with who you know, how you network, and your prior experiences. You can control almost all three of these variables. In the end if you want it bad enough things will happen for you. MBA will probably give you a better chance as it amplifies your networking/internship resources. Im assuming this is the general sentiments globally but please do correct me if im wrong.
