if KKR hired analysts, my guess is it would be unique cases such as favors for clients.

BX's program is a 3 year analyst program. Not that great imo. Would rather do banking + PE associate.

Yes, they do. They recruited from undergrad for their new energy fund.

Carlyle recruits straight from undergrad for their Energy Mezz Fund, relatively recent final close at $1.4b. Name is a bit of a misnomer as they do traditional buyouts and equity investments in addition to debt investing.
