Exploding Offer - Off Cycle
I recruited off cycle for a MM fund (latest fund $1 - $2bn) and was given an exploding offer. Offer expired after 24hrs and was contingent on me cancelling some of my other interviews. Is this normal for off cycle and for a MM fund?
Bump
Exploding offers are normal for PE. Some places make you accept/decline in the office before leaving.
Is it typical that they only give 24 hours?
Very common! Congrats on the offer!
24-48 hours is normal for on-cycle. Off cycle maybe a little longer but still normal.
I thought with on cycle you had to accept or deny on the spot?
If it's within the first week and at a MF, then yeah, but otherwise you should get 24-48 hours.
Did you end up accepting the offer? And any more info on the firm (geography, industry focus, etc.)?
