Sucks, not a top firm so no surprise there
Not even a real firm given it's an off-shoot from a European franchise and tends to pick up scraps on both the primary and secondary side. Wouldn't consider for a minute. There's better options out there, whether you're keen to do direct deals of FOF commitments.
Anecdotally last two funds aren’t expected to do well and culture is highly political - would avoid
Their last fundraises were quite strong - is your comment about only nyc team performance or London too?
They fundraise easy bc they’re an arm of Rothschild
What about the London office?
Partners are miserable hardos because they couldn’t succeed an established platform they’re trying their best to save their careers by closing deals at a mid franchise
Culture isn’t great but that’s just PE. Overall it is an ok place to do deals but you will be seen as a ~2 year resource
It's just a bit of a flawed franchise - Europeans trying to expand into US market but unable to properly evaluate assets in this market. Partners who overly intellectualize the wrong things and fail to make it past IC. Do very few / hardly any deals and not particularly well regarded by others so hard to lateral out of this group. They have sick retreats in exotic locations in Europe, and people on that side of the firm are a lot better off, closer to the home base and protected by the European 'ethos'
