From European Continent IB to PE London

After 2.5 years of working at an EB in the European continent, I am ultimately pursuing opportunities in the buy side (target UMM / MM funds) in London.

I have heard relocating directly from European IB to London PE is difficult. Therefore, I am considering the following two options:

1) Exit into PE in Europe first and then look for PE opportunities in London

2) Relocate to IB London first and then exit

Which one would be more practical from your perspective? Also appreciate if someone having experience of directly moving from European IB to London PE could share their insights.
