From Mutual Funds to Private Equity?

Hi all. Just reaching out to ask if anyone has gone from a job in mutual funds to private equity? The reason I ask is because a local PE firm has an opening for an Analyst, and I wonder if I would have a chance coming from the sales side of a MF firm(one of the largest in my region)? I’ve worked there for five years, and I do work some brokerage and RIA support.

Just wondered if anyone has made the transition to private equity from something like mutual funds or a niche industry?
