FT PB vs PE IR ?
Hello monkeys!
I am facing a dilemma as I just received two FT offers:
-
FT offer in a top PB (JP/GS/MS)
-
FT offer as an IR in a top PE fund
I am clearly hesitating between both. Apart from comp, what would be the best career in the long-term ?
Thank you for the help
Interesting thread a while back about PE IR, take a look at that
Thank you ! Didn’t manage to find one

Where did you find the full time IR role? Handshake? LinkedIn?
Interesting, any insights ?
Think the best option would be IR.
Doesn’t PB and WM have a big survival bias ?
Not an expert, but i guess that PB is really structure dependent
Those who voted for IR, what would be your main arguments as the comp from PB seems to have no ceiling in some BBs
Just my take but have heard PB is too based on individual performance? Like you have to know HNW ppl and constantly cold email/ be sales-y which can be up to luck frankly
