arguably not… the junior experience at GIP seems pretty miserable since ppl at the mid level do not effectively include juniors as part of the deal team but instead just use them as workhorses. Compared to friends at other funds, this seems counter to the value proposition of going to PE as an Analyst (more interesting work, greater autonomy, thinking like an investor, etc.) and is more similar to IB in a bad culture group with low actionable deal flow… at this rate you're better off going to IB and finding a good group to recruit elsewhere. The positive could be that there are now A2s after the first year of the program, so maybe they take learnings from this to turn it around
