GIP London office?
Seeking views on office culture / people / overall team vibe, especially within Capital Solutions (infra debt) group. GIP's reputation overall precedes itself (read: sweaty) but curious if anyone has direct experience working with this office and/or group.
Sweaty af and get ready for backstabbing and very sharp elbows. It's banking 2.0.
I heard from two separate sources that they are winding down the capital solutions team, not entirely sure why but the head of the team recently left (to Ares I think).
I heard they recently added an MD from PJT, any feedback as to how that's impacted the team culture?
Also I understand they're raising Capital Solutions Fund III which I'm not sure supports the idea they are winding down?
Interesting and by no mean I have better insights, just parroting what I have been told by two different sources.
If what you said is true, clearly there is a conflicting message coming out of the firm but that would be a good news.
