GP capital advisory - M&A

Hi everyone,

I would be interested if someone could shed light on GP capital advisory (not the secondaries advisory nor Fund placement) in companies like Campbell Lutyens. I would be primarily interested in their M&A teams dealing within the alternative asset manager market as well as Minority GP equity investments and Secondary sales of GP minority investments.

Do I correctly understand that they advise GPs on how to acquire other asset managers and are not recommending them regarding add-ons to their portfolio companies or new investments?

Also, I would be interested in exit opportunities. Would it be possible in future to exit into a deal team in a PE shop with this kind of M&A experience within GP capital advisory? Also, what is compensation like in this kind of team?

Thank you for all the answers.

PS: I apologise if something is unclear; pretty new in the GP capital advisory industry.
