Growth / Late Stage VC Lateral Associate Hiring Market?

Not very happy atm with my growth buyout associate role and want to be more sourcing focused vs pure execution. Know The growth and late stage vc guys have taken a beating but anyone at these firms or in tune know if there will be lateral opps in Jan / Q1 of this year?

Lateral opportunities will likely be thin right now.  New Associates will always be needed at GE shops, since most are 2 - 3 year programs before the kick you out to B school.  However, unlike previous years, experienced Associates are likely in low demand.  Given how hard the asset class has been hit, most firms are likely to slow down Associate to VP promotions by not hiring anyone or letting them expire after their terms.
