Haven't Yet Been Staffed
Hey all
I hit the desk a few weeks ago coming into a HF debt / direct lending / opportunistic role out of IB at an EB. I haven't yet been staffed with anything. We look primarily at privates, but also do some HY investing. What should I do in my free time without deals to look at? Been doing a lot of reading.
What have to learned about the way your organization does deals? In particular, recognizing what is a good deal by going over deals that were completed and those that were passed upon can help get you up the learning curve.
I would suggest you look at (i) prior deals the firm did and (ii) learn the sector. Pick up some public companies in the sector and start going over their earnings call
Smart -- thanks man.
