HF analyst to Corp Dev/PE -- how to make up for lack of transaction/operations experience?

Hey guys, what's good?

I'm currently an analyst at a fundamental L/S HF in Asia. I'm lucky enough to have the opportunity to transition into the internal PE group of one of the major conglomerates here.

Though I've been able to analyze different companies across industries through my HF work, I lack transaction or operations experience. I started out in equity derivatives and bypassed the traditional IBD bootcamp.

I want to be able to hit the ground running. How can I make up for these shortcomings?

Thanks y'all!
