I dont think they went onccyle. CPI sent out an email regarding their upcoming interviews and to measure interest coming up for them towards the beginning of August. Their interviews should start in a couple weeks or months I believe. Didnt followup on the email so I don't know specific timelines beyond high-level
Culture is intense but their returns are phenomenal

Agreed on the culture, doesn't seem like the best place to work based on people I know there and things I've read here.
Is HIG bad enough to the point where it’s worth rejecting an offer if you get one?
No. Hundreds of banking analysts would kill for an HIG offer.
