How many deals have you done since May?
Obviously deal activity is down but its not at zero. My entire group has done zero deals since April and I don’t know anyone personally in PE / VC that has done one recently.
Have you personally been on a deal thats closed and wasn’t initiated before ~April?
Every company worth investing in that I’ve talked to has 9+ months of runway and no desire to raise capital. Starting to get nervous I won’t get any real deal experience for 6+ months or so
At a MF and haven't done a deal yet (been here for over a year now) and things don't seem to be heating up anytime soon...
Sorry to hear that, have you been in some competitive processes yet or given out some IOIs or LOIs?
Yeah we ran hard at a couple and have gone all the way to binding offers three times but those processes were all up to early 2022
We haven't submitted a LOI in the past 2 months
Pretty standard for PE. If you can get 1 deal done in 2 years as an associate, that's generally pretty good. Not uncommon at all for no deals closed over 2 years.
