How many interviews did it take you to land your first PE offer?
How many interviews did it take you to land your first PE offer? Would be helpful if to know what kind of PE firm/on-cycle or off-cycle as well and what kind of firm you were at previously.
Off cycle from shitty bank/consulting firm to UMM/MF PE. Took me about a year, maybe a dozen interviews.
Did you network at all or did you receive all those interviews from HH?
Mostly HH, maybe 1-2 networked.
Hey, can I PM you, I wanted to learn further about your experience and get advice
Target undergrad? wondering about your process if you went from "shitty bank/firm" to UMM
Shitty like lower BB or Parthenon type shitty
Sorry dozen interviews or dozen firms?
Firms
Off cycle from regional bank w/ limited PE exits. I interviewed with ~10 firms over about 6 months before getting my LMM offer.
I had pretty tight geographic search criteria so probably could've gotten it done sooner with broader reach. The ones I didn't get were primarily not behavioral fits and 2 where i just fucked up the case study lol
mix of networking but primarily worked through headhunters and just made it clear to them what my geographic preference was. After that started to get a lot more targeted inbound.
