Hyper-assertiveness in PE culture - books and methods to adjust?

Hi everyone:

I'm curious on what you would recommend for the following: I'm an international student who grew up outside of US, and currently work in PE in US. I think the US PE culture is quite "hyper-assertive", not just compared to my own background, but also compared to general US culture (I went to college in US). I've spoken with a few people who also work in PE, and basically think that I can confirm that the broader PE culture is just this way (my firm's culture is not an outlier).

For someone who grew up in an entirely different background, what are some books, practices, activities they can immerse themselves in to gain more comfort around this culture, and make it more of a second-nature? Just for context, I speak fluent English with little accent (grew up to non-white international parents in expat setting), so the language itself is not the issue (more of a cultural adaption thing).

Appreciate your thoughts - thanks!
