Indian Semi-Target | 1 YOE in S&T | Worth doing LBS MFA for London IB/PE exits?

Considering doing a master's and have heard mixed opinions would appreciate input.

Indian citizen, undergrad from a top Indian engineering school (IIT), semi-target internationally. Will have 1 year of experience at a BB in S&T (EM Rates/FX) before the program. Looking to pivot into London IB and eventually move to PE (MF/UMM preferred).

Considering the LBS MFA (2026-27), but a bit unsure:

  • Is this realistic? I have gone through a lot of posts highlighting declining placements at LBS MFA.
  • Would it help lateral into a stronger IB group or platform with better exits to PE?
  • How does it compare to other MFin options like Oxford, Cambridge, or Imperial?
  • Do London headhunters and PE funds take this path seriously, especially for associate-level recruiting post-IB?

Interested in working in London mid-long term.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Have a good day.
