Investment analyst with no interest in stock market investing

Other than being a PE investment analyst by occupation, I generally have no interest outside of work to be in sync with the market and investing personal money in the stock market.  In fact, I'd say I am an average dude who just likes to enjoy in my free time (albeit in rare occasions) and want nothing to do with corporate finance. Just cannot find it in myself (yet) to devote my however little space time I have to monitor markets/expand knowledge.

Anybody here also once had the same experience, and how did you slowly convince yourself to pick up side hobbies that can grow/develop/hone your investment acumen? Also feeling lost and dispassioned over my apparent lack of interest in the investing space.

I've been in PE for 6 years and have never had an interest in the public markets.  All my investments outside of our funds are just in index funds.  I don't think a successful career in PE requires that interest...public and private market investing are two very different animals.

That said, I'm assuming your question is truly referring to only the public markets specifically.  Obviously if your lack of passion extends into what you're doing day to day, then that is different.
