Is it possible to get into PE without experience in IB, VC?

This is specifically from the RE side, so I don’t think VC or IB would even have too much impact. But basically, I graduated college a year ago and I’ve been working in appraisal. I wanted to know if there’s any path to PE other than getting an MBA. I’d be open to the MBA route as well, but I don’t think any top program would care for me as a lowly appraiser.

Do people make the jump to PE from AM, or Acq roles? I’m sure it doesn’t happen very often, but I’d like to know if it’s possible. What advice do you have to give to a 21 yo real estate appraiser who’s looking to end up in PE within the next 10-15 years?
