Jumping ship out of LS Equity to Growth/Quality PE

I'm a low-to-mid-level analyst (4 years at SM LS equity - quality focused - and 1 year of macro research prior). In a nutshell I want to move to the private mkts so I can focus more on bottom-up research (of course there are cons to this pro, can expand on this if you want)

I see that most of the growth-focused / quality-co-focused PEs hire from M&A/banking/consulting only. What are the companies that tend to hire from the buy-side instead or that are more diverse in this sense?
