Large cap growth/mm buyout firms vs small cap traditional minority growth

Wanted to better understand the differences (if any) between the ASO experience at these two types of funds:

  • Large(er) cap growth/mm buyout (e.g. Insight/Summit/TA/GA)
  • Small(er) cap traditional minority growth (e.g. JMI/TCV/Spectrum)

Comp? Time spent sourcing? B-School placement? Exit ops? Trying to understand why someone would choose one offer over the other. Have heard anecdotally that going with the first group keeps more options open down the road.
