LSE MSc Finance and Private Equity / HEC MSc International Finance / LBS MFA for recruiting to boutiques in London

Hi all,

I have been accepted into LSE MSc Finance and PE and MiF HEC Paris. Will probably get accepted into LBS MFA as well.

How should i decide on what school to pick? From FT ranking, HEC Paris is the best. However, the brand does not seem as strong as LSE and LBS.

For sure either LBS or HEC.

LBS is in London, which is a big pro. Nonetheless, I was at HEC and networking is amazing, the career services are for sure must better than in LBS (from my friend group experience.

All in all, both schools place very well, I personally recruited to a boutique that only hires LBS and HEC.

I am wondering, why would you not recommend LSE? I thought that the LBS MFA did not have a good reputation as the program is fairly new and LBS is more known for their post-experience programs. Thus, LSE MFin PE would be a better choice in London.

Also, what is your take on the HEC brand in London for BB and boutiques?

Could you give more info on your background for placement (GPA at ug / Internships / GMAT etc)

GPA: Grade A / (4.64/5.00)

GMAT: 700 / 87%

Work: >1yr part-time analyst @ a middle-market boutique

Not from UK, but Europe. Trying to break into London.

As a current LSE MSc Finance & PE Student: do yourself a favor and go for LBS.

I take it that it's true only MSc Finance actually places well, not any of its sister courses?

That is what I am wondering as well. The program (MFA) has been running for some years, but I don't see it having the same track record as LSE's MSc Finance (& PE).
