Mega Fund IR Career Trajectory

Hi all, currently an IR associate at a large multi-strat PE firm (think Apollo, Bain, KKR, Blackstone etc). I enjoy the work and am not planning on leaving any time soon but am curious what people view as long term outcomes and the earning potential. Staying and working up the ladder vs. moving to a smaller shop vs. going to placement agent, etc…

Climb ladder or go to smaller place to run IR is what I’ve seen most often. Or more rare but lateral into something else in the company
