Mentioning upcoming BB summer internship in CV for PE off-cycle internship application

As the title says, would it be appropriate/helpful/harmful/inappropriate to mention an upcoming BB IBD summer internship on the CV in an application for a PE internship (September start date) given that internship experience from a reputable IB firm is needed to be competitive? My only other IB internship experience is from a no-name IB firm based outside of Europe/UK.

- "Internship from a reputable IB firm is needed to get the internship"

- "Would it be helpful to mention that I will have been at a reputable IB firm by the time the internship would start?"

Your BB will be lucky to have you this summer, I am sure your intellectual capacity will be a great asset.

😂

Actually I was just being a bit paranoid that blatantly announcing experience I haven't gotten as at the time of application might be perceived negatively (like the way I have seen WSO posts saying that it is inappropriate to mention getting an offer from a rival when that information wasn't requested).

I'm just messing around with you. To answer your question, I definitely think that you should put it on your resume. It's very relevant as you will actually have that experience by the time you would start your internship at the PE firm, even if you do not have that experience right now. You can also talk about it in interviews, saying that you expect to get experience from XYZ during your BB internship, which you think would benefit you in the PE internship because XYZ. However, I would stay away from posting it on LinkedIn. It's cringe as fuck to see some kid announcing his internship a year in advance and thanking the 30 people who he said hi to at some career fair, his family, and even some useless person from HR who did nothing but slow down and add confusion to the recruitment process.
