MF PE (secondaries/infra) vs. Top IB

Hi all.

Currently deciding between an offer for a non-corporate PE role at a MF (think secondaries/infra) and a top IB group (EVR/GS). My eventual goal is corporate PE within either the same MF or similar tier firm.

It seems like the comp and work life balance is better at a MF, starting from an analyst role — but I’ve also heard that there tends to be little mobility and flexibility to the flagship funds within a firm.
