Mountaingate Capital Insights
Curious about Denver PE space and was wondering if anyone knew info on Mountaingate. They seem like a solid MM but haven't seen anything on this forum.

Solid fundraising trajectory but they’ve deliberately stayed small and plan to keep their next fund flat to slightly larger than the current fund. They like to act as first institutional capital providers (similar strategy as Serent), which is a strategy that doesn’t translate well to scale, so they’ve kept growth and headcount very moderate. Good people, heard culture is chill if not pretty hierarchical for a fund of its size, and that the people work hard. Their associate program is strictly 2-and-out.
There was some serious senior turnover around 2020-ish
I have heard pretty negative things about how they treat associates (not surprising because they burn and churn them in the 2 year model)
