Moving from LA IB to NYC PE
I am starting with a bulge bracket group in Los Angeles in August. I am interested in potentially moving to New York for a buy-side role following my analyst stint. I know that most PE firms in NY only recruit from NY and that they interview candidates in NY, but assuming my office is receptive to me taking time to travel for interviewing is it plausible that I will get any traction with headhunters or PE firms for NYC based positions?
