Network with PE firms after signing SA offer for MBB

I am interested in learning about paths from consulting and getting more candid advice about the job now that I have got an offer.

I am apprehensive because I do not want to seem like I’m trying to move to the next thing before even starting. But I am genuinely curious about the paths people took.

Would this be looked down upon?

You can go this route, but I highly recommend networking with alumni and don’t bother cold applying. Target people who went to the same school AND were in the same sorority/frat, or also an athlete, or same scholarship so you’re not just randomly emailing. Then approach them in a way that they want to take you under their wing.

I always said something along the lines of “I’m a Harvard volleyball player interested in exploring different career paths in finance and wondering if you’d be able to share how Harvard volleyball got you to where you are today?” Obviously phrased it a bit differently. Sometimes I could get older teammates to help with the intro.
