Networking for Private Equity
Hi all.
I am in my final year of university will be working in IB in NYC after graduation, and am highly considering on-cycle recruiting for PE. From conversations I've had, it seems that networking for PE isn't as helpful as networking was for IB roles, but I'm hoping to get more insight into this. How can I network for PE roles? Is it similar to networking for IB? Less helpful? More helpful?

Reach out but a lot of MF have very rigid recruiting processes with their HHs at least for oncycle. I do know a guy who got Permira purely from a cold email and got it from a noname bank during offcycle.
