Starting here in a few weeks as a new associate 1. Coming from a lev fin background to a sector focused fund. Any guidance on where to start to prep? Any recommendations to other best practices for when first hitting the buy-side desk is helpful as well. Fund is c. 4B latest raise.

My rec has actually nothing to do w/ hitting the books, etc. I would spend a major amount of time getting comfortable. Usually your first 1-2 wks will be very easy - maybe training, some compliance, some lunches/dinners, some light PortCo work at worst especially in August slow-down. Very unlikely you'll get put on something so urgent that it consumes all your time. Some things I did: - my old bank used Factset, my new PE firm uses CapIQ.
