On-Cycle Coffee Chats and In-Person Events

I’m putting together my target list for on-cycle and trying to get a realistic read on where I might actually get looks.

If I’ve already had coffee chats and gone to in-person events with certain firms, should I more or less expect interviews from those places (assuming nothing went horribly wrong)? Or is that still very hit-or-miss once recruiting starts?

On the flip side, how realistic is it to get interviews from firms where I haven’t had any direct touchpoints, outside of virtual info session? Basically trying to understand whether the door is still open at places I haven’t engaged with yet, or if interviews mostly go to people who they have already interacted with.

Trying to prioritize where to focus going into on-cycle, would appreciate any insight from people who went through recent processes or are in the PE industry already.

they won’t. They will give u looks and push u in the direction they think u will most likely accept or get an offer with. Curious to hear tho what happens if you botch the interview (not terribly but deep into a process) at one fund during oc, what does that same HH do next?

How do HH's determine where you are likely to accept and get an offer with. It seems weird that they'd only show people to one or two firms. Doesn't this just mean they are limiting their chances of placing any specific canidate?
