On cycle from MM to UMM

I’m evaluating between a MM fund (~$2bn fund size) in a tier 1 city, and another MM fund (~$4bn fund size) in tier 2 city for a full time PE analyst role. Goal is to on cycle for UMM/ MF in a tier 1 city. Both funds have similar reputation, open to promoting from within and give similar deal reps. Would really appreciate some advice.
