On-cycle PE recruiting for new mbb consultant

I just started at MBB ~3 weeks ago (post undergrad) and am still undecided about pursuing the PE route. I don't think I want to recruit on-cycle right now, but want the option to do off-cycle (or on-cycle next year if that's an option?).

If I don't plan on recruiting right now, should I still register/engage with headhunters? Hesitant to come off as naïve as I haven't done a ton of research. Also don't know if my resume for MBB recruitng is appropriate to upload as-is for this process, or if it should be updated despite having next to 0 experience at my firm.

Any advice would be welcome, especially from PE folks with a consulting background!
